Job description
IBM Integrated Analytics System (IIAS) is a high-performance, integrated data warehouse appliance. As part of the global development team we are responsible for the in-database analytics component that leverages open-source technologies like Spark and analytics languages like R and Python.
You will be a member of our team in the Boeblingen Research and Development lab and work with us to develop compelling machine learning and advanced analytics use cases that demonstrate the value of our product.
During your internship you
· get deep insights in a leading edge data warehouse appliance with its underlying database Db2 Warehouse,
· work with open source frameworks like Spark, Livy, Juypter notebooks,
· apply the in-database analytics functions of IIAS and open source analytics libraries to solve machine learning problems in Scala, R and Python
· and you may be involved as well in our development activities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Study of Computer Science or related area
- Knowledge of Machine Learning/Data Mining and Database Technology including SQL
- Familiar with at least one of the following scripting/programming languages: Scala, R, Python
- Familiar with Unix/Linux operating systems
