Specialist Commercial New Product Planning (m/f) EMEA

for the Commercial EMEA Headquarter based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The Commercial New Product Planning Specialist is responsible for driving best-in-class assumption based commercial planning processes, tools and behaviors for the Commercial New Product Activity (New Product Launch, Product Retirement and New Product). By utilizing available data sets, the role will support Global Marketing Teams on the Development, Implementation and Effectiveness Monitoring of Marketing Plans.


Major Accountabilities:

  • Ownership for the Monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) New Product Planning & Forecasting Process. Drive process on a Monthly basis to ensure establishment of “One set of numbers”. Ensure clear transparency to New Product and Retirement Demand Management Statement which will enable sustainable and predictable delivery on IBP / LBE Commitment at Country, Region, Area and Division Level
  • Report on Month to Month changes, outlining potential Opportunities and Vulnerabilities. Ensure timely and effective communication and close-out of Key Decisions Made, Elevations and Action Items arising from the relevant Review Process
    • Key Commercial partner with both Marketing and Finance Teams to establish Business Cases for all active product projects throughout the Product Life Cycle Stage and Gate Process
  • Primary partner with Global Supply Chain (Operations) Demand Planning Organization to ensure full alignment on New Product Forecast / Plan being developed for Ramp Up / Ramp Down
  • Work with Global Marketing, Area & Country Marketing Teams and Area Commercial Excellence / Regional Sales Operations Team to ensure the Demand Management Statement comprehends New Product Plans and Execution performance
  • Ensure full alignment with the assigned Commercial key point contact for Regulatory Affairs relative to In-Country registration processes for all New Product and Retirement planning activities
  • Be the CRM (aforce) Process & Tool Champion for the Global and Area Marketing Teams, including data stewardship (relevant to Product Transition (New Product & Retirement) and relevant ticket resolution with Global Team. Coordination of all tool activities within the Marketing Area – including Data Extraction and Business Performance Metric reporting.
  • Coordinate the Automation and Informatics Commercial Pre-Approval and Planning Process across the Division
  • Be the Commercial lead for the IBP Monthly Demand Management Consolidation Tool. Work with Areas to identify process / tool enhancements that will improve the efficient and effectiveness of the Monthly Cycle
  • Working with Commercial Excellence Team at Area and Sales Excellence Teams at Country / Region Level to identify Process or Learning Gaps. In turn work with relevant Stakeholders to identify improvement plans. Establish appropriate metrics to monitor and support Flawless Execution

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business management and business administration
  • Minimum of 3-5 years track record in the life science industry with an emphasis on commercial management or supply chain management in diagnostic and/or medical device business
  • Extensive experience as program / project manager
  • Must be team orientated, have demonstrated ability to operate within a Cross Function Team, analytical and highly organized
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management, with demonstrated performance of influencing change
  • Results Driven - confident, thrive on hard work and consistent challenge
  • Advanced knowledge with ability to collate data from various data sources
  • Have demonstrated business analytical capabilities and track record of contingency planning with a Commercial Operations focus (preferable Sales Analytics and CRM Management)
  • Desire and ability to lead and influence cross functional teams within the organization to ensure goals achievement
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation/communication skills
  • Deep understanding of the complexities of diagnostics market and customer needs would be advantageous
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint and Access, R Programming, MATLAB, Cognos and Power Query
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of financial models
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and resourcefulness
