The Role

The role of the Project Manager Retail Development will oversee new store and service center development, refresh and renovation projects for Tesla. In this role you will coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams, focusing on delivering new or upgrading existing products. You will also monitor the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending and organize cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project with quality, on schedule and within budget constraints.

Responsibilities:

·  Working with Real Estate team to ensure appropriate properties are being identified and included in the site survey(s);
·  Calculate full projects budget estimations based on property information from Real Estate handoffs and recommend subsequent budget changes where possible or necessary;
·  Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
·  Work with Design team to ensure you have checked and commented on drawing sets and shop drawings based on site knowledge and construction experience.
·  Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path schedule.
·  Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones and manage to make these happen;
·  Track project milestones and deliverables from property identification through to store opening.
·  Proactively manage changes in project scope, before and during construction period, by identifying potential consequences in time and money and use clear communication to get the involved team members aligned.
·  Manage all construction activities including all change orders and snagging items.
·  Ensure that snagging items are completed fully prior to Operations Store Activities (No Overlap).
·  Fully close out the project financially, by working with TESLA Finance team shortly after construction completion. This closeout process must include all Change Orders with approved backup and the GC final reconciliation form.
·  Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with all Landlord representatives

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Bachelor in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
·  Fluency in English required and German language skills strongly preferred.
·  At minimum, 3 year related construction and/or retail management experience and strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and contracting.
·  Ability to read and understand construction plans, including ability to sketch and understand construction terminology.
·  Good negotiating, problem solving and communication skills.
·  Strong drive for results, sense of urgency and consistent work ethic across all assigned projects
·  A team player who collaborates effectively with TESLA colleagues and other project team players.
·  Ability to handle and successfully resolve conflicts.
·  Effective in a cross-functional environment
·  Available for extensive travel at varying intervals
