Material Handler Section Leader

1st Shift

This position is eligible for a shift differential

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat Endorsement for the Operation of the Company Truck

Responsibilities:

·  Maintains functional operation of assigned area of responsibility. Oversees and supervises activities, ensuring compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
·  Plans, schedules and supervises assigned staff in receiving, warehousing and/or shipping operations. Oversees activities related to the receipt, storage, disbursement and accountability of packaging, raw material intermediates, parts and miscellaneous supplies. Provides input related to employee performance evaluations.
·  Ensures and maintains orderly flow of materials from warehouse to offsite locations and/or internal and external customers. Addresses non-routine problems/issues. Interacts with various departments to address issues related to inventory control and order processing. Assumes responsibility for SAP transactions related to inventory.
·  Maintains equipment in a good state of repair, issues work orders as required.
·  Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all procedures and instructions related to the proper receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of materials as it relates to FDA, OSHA, safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and other Roche policies and procedures.
·  Acts as a backup in supervisor's absence.
·  Laboratory and production job incumbents may be required to handle or manage hazardous wastes. All governmental regulations are to be followed.
·  Communicates with other departments, staff groups, customers and seeks to play a more strategic role in dealing with planning, coordinating, administration and general management issues.

Qualifications:

Formal Training/ Education

Education:

Required:

·  High School diploma or GED, or related field
·  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with HazMat Endorsement for the Operation of the Company Truck
·  Must successfully complete and pass the Hazardous materials CDL Knowledge HazMat written exam

Preferred:College courses or Associate's degree

Experience:

Required:

·  3 years. Typically 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in receiving distribution and/ or ware housing.

Preferred:3yrs and lead experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferred:

·  Proper receipt, storage, disbursement, and warehousing methods. Familiar with DOT, IATA regulations, and GMP's.
·  And Microsoft and SAP skills.
