Analytics Business Consultant

The Analytics Business Consultant reports to the Operations Analytics Leader.Supports Watch Operations US Field and US Input organizations by providing data driven, meaningful insights that enable tactical & strategic decision making.Researches and analyzes basic and complex issues surrounding the people, processes and systems of an organization. Makes recommendations regarding improvement of processes, and practices to drive quality, efficiency and transparency. Models, simulates and tests potential improvements. Communicates and assists in facilitating change to impacted business units. Familiar with a variety of analytical concepts, practices, and tools. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

·  Drive change and execute new initiatives utilizing robust, data analytics that improve existing process quality and performance, and enable the organization to effectively adapt to change.
·  Lead continuous improvement of processes, operational tools and performance by using data analytics.
·  Query and analyze data from complex relational databases for various analyses and/or requests, using Access, SQL, Excel, VBA, and other statistical packages (i.e. SAS, SPSS, Minitab) in order to meet business goals and objectives.
·  Able to use a combination of data visualization tools (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau) and communication tools to clearly and effectively explain the problem, root cause and recommendations.
·  Conduct detail-level strategic analyses to address business and customer issues resulting in improvements in process and procedures.
·  Serve as a subject matter expert, providing counsel and direction based on data driven findings.
·  Evaluate and develop service and process metrics that drive insights to operations performance and service delivery, and align with expressed client/market needs.
·  Interprets internal/external business issues and adapts work priorities.
·  Demonstrates business knowledge.
·  Ability to perform statistical, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
·  Understands and able to apply Statistical theories & methodology,
·  Demonstrates expertise in data mining, distributed computing (hadoop), database systems, cloud tools, predictive modeling
·  Able to listen, understand the business problem and discern priorities, filter thru the “noise”, summarize key points and rapidly translate conceptual ideas into prototypes.
·  Ability to engage internal clients at all levels and manage expectations, anticipate needs.

Required

·  BA/BS degree in a relevant field
·  3 to 5 years of related professional experience in a similar role
·  Inquisitive about about data … proactive and creative
·  Strategic thinker
·  Good partnering skills
·  Focused on timely execution
·  Strong analytical and logic, deductive reasoning skills
·  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with others
·  Ability to work independently and within a team environment

·  Expertise using relational databases and data visualization tools
·  Proficiency in Google+ Suite and/or MS Office; Word, PPT, Access, Excel

Desired

·  Proficiency in VBA, SQL, R, SAS, Python, Hive, Pig, Spark
·  Experience in Machine Learning implementation
·  Expertise in Spotfire, Tableau
