MEDICAL DELEGATE – NUTRITION
NORTHERN CAPE


To create awareness of the Nestle Infant Nutrition products in assigned territory and aim for prescription/recommendation while complying with the local regulation for the marketing of breastmilk substitute. To develop relationships/partnerships with medical/paramedical contacts/institutions through effective communication and/or participation in HCP activities.

Key Responsibilities:
PRODUCT AND CONCEPT DETAILING IN THE ASSIGNED TERRITORY:
· Apply Professional Detailing Skills and use the appropriate product and concept knowledge to detail the Nestle Infant Nutrition range to Health Care Professionals concerned with patients to be able to make an informed choice when recommending Infant formula and cereals. Contribute to reaching the target set for value market share and HCP and Institution conversions.
TERRITORY MANAGEMENT:
· Maintenance of an updated master list on the masterdata system, with contacts classified according to their importance to the business and call frequency indicated.
· Contribute to an updated pocket analysis with the HCP universe data, possible coverage as well as competitor data in the assigned territory.
· Meet the individual growth targets for HCP reach by HCP type as agreed with the FOM to contribute to the regional and national target for HCP reach.
· Plan, execute and record daily HCP coverage by means of a regularly updated master schedule to meet the call rate standard by classification and expected frequency.
· Ongoing HCP needs survey for needs based detailing and activity planning.
· Identify challenges and opportunities in the assigned territory and plan strategies aligned with the regional strategy/business plan and see to execution to address the issues and use the opportunities for business development.
· Activity and scientific events planning according to the annual, regional business plan, executing brand plans and ensuring expected ROI and HCP need satisfaction within the budget allocated.
· Conduct periodic trade checks to ensure availability of the complete product range, report competitive activities, stock level and prices.
· Relationship building with HCP’s and Key Opinion Leaders to ensure product recommendation and create loyalty.
CODE’S MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
· (World Health Organisation International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, Botswana Regulations on Marketing of Foods for Infants and Young Children, R.991: Regulations Relating to Foodstuffs for Infants and Young Children, “hereinafter referred to as Codes”)
· Ensure implementation of local Codes Management System “herein referred to as CMS” in every country in ZAR.
· Ensures adherence to the Code’s, Nestle Policy and Instructions on the implementation of the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes.
· Ensure that no direct contact with the general public and pregnant women or mothers of infants and young children is undertaken, in business capacity.
· Follow the CMS Procedures/Work instructions as per the Codes Management System for daily operational activities.
· Attend training and meet the standard for Code knowledge as evaluated in the pre-cycle incentive tests.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Weekly and monthly activity reporting and monthly expense reconciliation.
· Responsible treatment and maintenance of company property (car/laptop/uniform etc.).
· Take personal interest in self-development.
· Planning and submission of leave applications.
· Timeous submission of travel and expense claims as well as away from base claims.
· Show a positive attitude towards the job, company, colleagues, superior and contacts.

Key Requirements:
· Science related Degree (Nursing/Dietetics) with experience in Paediatrics/Nutrition.
· Knowledge and experience as a Medical representative will be advantageous
· Computer literate and must have a valid/unendorsed driver’s license.
