About the job

Solution Architect - Delivery & Settlement team within Solution Area Order & Delivery(38,5h/week - located in Dortmund (GER) or Helsingborg (SE) or Älmhult (SE))

IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is leading business development at IKEA and the core IKEA matrices Range, Supplying, Technical and Commercial. At IKEA of Sweden you will work in a company with endless opportunities to develop in different operational areas and countries.
Business Solutions Range & Supply is a part of IKEA of Sweden. We secure relevant solutions for IKEA Range & Supply – today and tomorrow. Our goal is to connect business and people with information technology.

Our Supplying system landscape is grouped into different Solution Areas and today the Solution Area “Order & Delivery” supports more than 15 000 users throughout Supplying in the areas of Order, Customs and Delivery & Settlement. In order to support our growth, we are now looking for a Solution Architect with the focus on Cargo Network System and Visibility.

A major initiative is running in the area of Delivery & Settlement, Supplying Transport Management Solution, STMS, developing and implementing a new IKEA Transport Management, ITM. After global roll out of ITM the focus will shift and be to support Visibility and ITM, incl new integration platform.

Are you experienced in developing, reviewing and approving high and supporting low-level design of IT solutions? Do you want to work in an area which requires you to both secure high data quality and be flexible and adapt to changes with short notice? Do you get inspired by working with integration design in a highly integrated system landscape?

Your assignment is to…

·  Review and approve the technical high-level designs created by IT suppliers, keeping in mind the current industry trends and best practices and also supporting low-level designs.
·  Shape ideas – in close collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders – into concrete, robust and appropriate solution architectures (high level design) and transition roadmaps (for implementation) that achieve the business outcome for a fast growing business (for running business and initiatives).
·  Secure that the solution architecture reflects customer and co-worker experience, time to market, sharing and collaboration, functional, technical, infrastructure, operational, security, financial, social and environmental considerations. Actively contribute to the resolution of conflicting requirements.
·  Communicate the solution architectures and transition roadmaps to relevant business and IT stakeholders within and across organisation(s), and seek understanding and agreement to ensure aligned and consistent solution implementations across the IKEA value chain.
·  Ensure that the solution architecture and roadmaps complies with relevant policies, principles, rules and standards, the agreed IT landscape architectures, its vision and goals and transition roadmaps. Suggest revisions, when compliance does not create business value.
·  Ensure that the agreed solution architectures and transition roadmaps guide the scoping of business initiatives, the low level design and govern the implementation of solutions.
·  Collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders (including suppliers) to improve solution architecture with learnings from the implementation and industry practices. Support stakeholders and initiatives with solution and technical expertise.
·  Pro-actively identify and advise on opportunities to deliver better business result (e.g. related to technology changes, trends and players, roadmaps, customer value, cost, benefits, alternatives, impact, risks, dependencies, gaps).
·  Collaborate closely with IT suppliers, influence them with IKEA requirements, IKEA Way of Working and have a critical dialog about proposals to secure the best result for IKEA. Is this the challenge for you?
We offer a challenging role where you will get the possibility to participate in driving IKEA Range & Supply's future within Information Technology.

We believe you have 2-3 years' experience of IT development processes and of solution architecture concepts. We also believe you have a good understanding of the IKEA business model – strategies, roadmaps, priorities, processes, organisations, concepts, policies, IKEA IT landscape.
You have an extensive knowledge of the assigned technical area and inter-dependencies both within and outside the organisation (the assigned commercial off-the-shelf solutions and/or IKEA build solutions, their functionality, build-in key concepts and structure, components or modules, and their implementation at IKEA).
Additionally you contribute with a deep understanding of the technical drivers, business needs and non-functional requirements for the assigned area
We believe you are experienced in using models, methods and tools within analysis and design and have good knowledge of general IT frames e.g. standards, infrastructure and platforms, frameworks, development concepts and processes.

You have excellent analytical skills. You are able to see the big picture as well as the details and to structure information and derive conclusions and consequences out of them.
You are able to interact with strong stakeholders – understand them and their needs as well as making them understand you.

You are interested in exploring uncertainty and learning new things. Communicate with people building trust and partnership and reach common goals.
You like to work in a team and together achieve long-term sustainable business result and deliver better solutions for IKEA from idea to reality.
