Job description

GYS is a family owned French manufacturer of Welding and Battery Charging Equipment. The GYS group has grown very rapidly in the last 15 years and currently employ around 500 people, mainly in Laval in France but also accross the world in the different offices.
GYS UK started in 2008 and now has a team of 26 (including 2-3 French people). The comany is based in Rugby, in Warwickshire, located 1.5 hour north of London and known as the heart of England and a major transport hub.
The position of Marketing Assistant reports to the Marketing Manager and the role will involve direct contact with all members of the team including the field-based sales team, other office and warehouse colleagues and the Sales Managers. Externally there will be opportunities to talk to distributors (a mix of major national companies and small family businesses).
The scope of the role is vast and requires flexibility. Although the position will evolve based on individual capabilities, the core of the position will involve the following tasks:
- New product launch
Organise the launch of new products in the UK
Gather information from the factory and brief UK team on specifications and availability
Run market and competitors analysis and organise pricing
Create and communicate the appropriate launch documents and promotions
- Product follow-up
Monitor changes in the product range and update the UK sales team
Manage product end of life
- Creation of sales and technical documents
Create pricelists and promotional leaflets
Translate marketing documents such as technical data sheets and manuals from French
- Stock & Purchase
Monitor stock and order products from France
Act as the link between the UK office and the factory in France
- Occasional support to other departments in busy periods
Answer the phone and enter orders in the system
Provide support in the warehouse

No technical background is required but the candidate is expected to learn about the product features and will be encouraged to learn to operate a welding machine at basic level.
A two weeks training will be provided in Laval in France prior to arrival in England. An immediate requirement will be to get familiar with the GYS group and its products.
