Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, she/he will be part of Electrical Tower Internals Team for successful, high quality new product integration (NPI) execution, fulfillment and field issue resolution. The broad scope of the team and the global responsibilities related to this position provide an opportunity for the Wind Tower Electrical Internals Design Engineer to drive quality and to optimize the wind turbine electrical system and components with respect to cost and reliability.
Essential Responsibilities

GE is looking for an Electro Mechanical Engineer, specialized in Wind Electrical Tower Internals Design, as part of the wind product and design process.

·  Execute Engineering design work on wind turbine Electrical Tower Internals components and their assembly, helping the Electrical Tower Internals Leaders

·  Provide innovative design solutions to meet specification, reliability targets, cost targets or project schedules, working with global and cross-functional teams to leverage ‘Best Practice’ for electrical components

·  Support into definition of complete technical documentation of electrical tower internals components and subassemblies, including specifications, bills of material, drawings, 3D-models, and schematics. Create and revise drawings, specifications and design practices applying GE and industry processes and standards, Electrical cable routing (Power, Signal, Lightning & Earthing), Cable Trays & Lighting and frames/support definition/creation. Creation and revision of Mechanical and Electrical Layout Drawings using NX/AUTOCAD

·  Revise machining and castings drawings and specifications if required

·  Ensure compliance of components and their use to international codes and standards like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, CCC, DIN etc.

·  Preparation of design / analysis documentation, e.g. Design Practices, design record book articles, Work Desk Instructions (WDI) if required following Electrical Tower Internals guidelines, etc.

·  Support into PLM Activities, PARTs & BOM definition, ECR/ECO processes. Part & Drawing object creation, Part rolling/revising & obsoleting, complete product life cycle management till release using Enovia
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Electrical or Electro Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience

·  Strong experience of electrical components design, applications and practices, with at least some experience in wind turbine design, familiar with international codes and standards like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, CCC or DIN

·  Knowledge Skills into UG NX10/12, SolidWorks, AUTOCAD, ENOVIA, MS Office

·  Experience in designing, qualifying supplier and fleet support for electrical components

·  Technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

·  Positive mindset excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

·  Fluent English written and spoken, also fluent Spanish/German depending on location application

·  Self-motivated

·  Willingness to travel

·  EU Work Permit
