Junior Consultant Infrastructure Advisory (Transport)

Job description

Within the EU Infrastructure Advisory Team, part of the EY's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), as a result of our continuous and successful growth in this specific consulting space, we currently offer a career opportunity for a Junior Consultant (from 0 up to 3 years of post-graduate work experience). The new hire would provide support for projects in the transport sector delivered to the EU / IFI Institutions who are the Team’s focus clients.

 

Main Tasks:

• Under guidance, delivery of research papers, quantitative analyses for economic regulation, cost/benefit analyses, operational efficiency, analysis of value chain and sector assessments of the transport industry (rail, road, air, waterborne and other transport modes) and of infrastructure financing in feasibility studies, impact assessments and other consulting assignments for EU / IFI Institutions;
• Under guidance, preparation and delivery of presentations to clients and stakeholders (incl. working level meetings, workshops, stakeholder consultation meetings);
• Support for the project management of assignments involving team members based throughout the EU, within and outside the EY network of offices;
• Support in the contractual management of projects awarded to EY and in the compliance of internal procedures/policies;
• Drafting of minutes of meetings and conference calls;

Additional Tasks:

• Under guidance, preparation/drafting of proposals in response to call for tenders issued by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and other International Institutions including among other activities:
 Support in the analysis of tender documents;
 Support to bid management, planning and finalization;
 Drafting of minutes of meetings and conference calls;

Profile:

• Master of Science in Economics/Finance/Management/Engineering;
• Study major or bachelor/master thesis with focus in at least one of the following fields: transport economics, transport industry dynamics/market research, EU transport policies, regulation of network industries (transport, energy, utilities, public services, telecoms), regulatory economics, value chain analysis of a transport mode, operational excellence in large/complex companies or cost-benefit analyses of capital investments;
• Strong analytical, qualitative and quantitative research skills and ability to draft clear and concise summaries;
• Willingness to learn and keen interest in EU transport policies, transport industries, regulated businesses/network industries;
• Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines;
• Proactivity, intellectual curiosity, openness to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment and in a team with good degree of autonomy;
• The position is entry level for fresh graduates, however past job experience or internships in consulting firms, financial institutions, engineering firms, research institutes/universities, transport/infrastructure companies and/or EU Institutions will be considered as an advantage;
