GDS - IT Junior Project Manager

The opportunity

Junior program manager is responsible for supporting PM’s in delivering IT Infrastructure programs and projects to schedule and budget. The role also requires working in tandem with the Project Managers and the Service Delivery Manager to support their activities. They will assist with reporting, risks and issue monitoring and ad-hoc budget and PMO tasks.

 

Excellent attitude, communication and attention to detail.  Junior Program Manager must have mastery in stakeholder relationship management skills to successfully support the program/project teams and program/project stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities

·  Excellent oral and written English and ability to create presentations to leadership
·  Excellent reporting, proof-reading, organization skills and ability to learn new software/tools quickly
·  Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills – must be able to create pivot tables
·  Project management, Infrastructure knowledge and understanding would be a benefit
·  Supporting the planning and reporting of the scope/budget/schedule baseline
·  Reports on variances to the approved program/project baseline
·  Interface and communicate with program/project team, management and stakeholders
·  Work within defined governance processes
·  Support development of business cases with the customer team including leading on the solutions estimate
Skills and attributes for success

·  IT background with experience
·  Knowledge and use of industry-standard program/project methods, tools and techniques e.g. RAIDS, budget, communication
·  Strong team working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams
·  Strong communication and interpersonal skills (includes negotiation)
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
·  Must be flexible to be able to work outside of local country working hours
·  Ability to clear and articulately communicate is paramount
To qualify for the role, you must have

·  Bachelor's degree
·  Extensive experience in a corporate IT environment
·  Extensive experience  in IT teams
·  Work experience in a multi-national company
·  Excellent English presentation and orals skills
Certification Requirements:

·  Any Microsoft Office tools
·  Project management certification is preferred (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2)
