Job description

70% Raw Materials, small CAPEX, and services:
? Perform RFPs for raw materials, small CAPEX, and services, supporting plant requirements as needed.
? Assist Purchasing Manager with raw material contracts concerning vendor performance, invoicing issues, material issues, as well as budgets and forecasting.
? Escalate issues to Purchasing Manager as appropriate.
? Coordinate and lead Malvern local purchases as well as R&D purchases from the requirements definition phase to vendor negotiations, contract preparation and signature, and to order placement and follow up.
30% Other Purchasing Activities
? Use of Purchasing E-Tools and Responsible Purchasing tools:
- ProSource portal for all RFPs and e-auctions, all contracts in ProcureNet, increase use of AGORA (online Purchasing tool).
- Supplier Charter for all RFPs, Ecovadis campaign.
? Assist in publishing monthly Purchasing reports and tracking of Raw Material indices.
? Participate in BuyTech events at the plants.
? Ad-hoc projects as assigned by Purchasing Manager.
? Support the overall Supply Chain strategy.
20% Logistics Support/Analysis:
? Inbound freight analysis and improvements.
? Support network optimization in close contact with supply chain team.
10% Other Duties:
? Perform Saint-Gobain online and in-person training sessions throughout the year.
? Participate in monthly Purchasing staff meeting.
? Participate in monthly Purchasing activities review with Purchasing Manager.
? Close interaction via phone and email with plants regarding raw material needs.
? Travel total up to 15%.
This position requires a Master’s degree in Supply Chain or other related analytical field and a minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience with proven success. Purchasing experience preferred, along with Planning experience (Production Planning, Materials Planning and/or Inventory Planning). SAP experience strongly preferred. Candidate needs to be a self-starter, highly organized, able to handle multiple projects, determine priorities and have the ability to manage pressure and stress. Candidate must be able to conduct activities in a confidential and secure manner.
