We are currently recruiting an Alterationist for our Sydney Fashion Boutique.

About the job:

This role addresses the meticulous alteration needs of our Fashion Boutique, ensuring maintaining the general essence of the garments while meeting customer preferences in a timely manner. As an Alterationist, you will collaborate closely with your team, offering expertise on fit, alteration possibilities, and Ready To Wear insights.

Reporting to our Fashion Boutique Manager, the Alterationist interacts closely with clients and works alongside Fashion Advisors to deliver tailored solutions. This role is pivotal in maintaining the boutique's reputation for exceptional service and craftsmanship.

What you need to know about the role:

Candidates should possess a keen eye for detail and precision, coupled with a deep understanding of fabrics, draping techniques, and garment construction. Effective communication skills are crucial for liaising with clients to ensure their needs are met with transparency and excellence.

In this role you will have the responsibility to:

· 
Complete requested garments alterations within specified timelines and to the highest standards of quality.

· 
Check pinning, press and prepare items, follow Alteration forms, assemble and finish, check fitting on mannequins prior to client fittings.

· 
Learn seasonal collections to understand silhouettes and styling gestures and recommended alterations methods accordingly.

· 
Ensure that the alteration schedule is properly monitored according to plan

· 
Communicate effectively with your team on any delays or issues to ensure the client experience is at its best.

Key requirements include:

The ability to sew and alter garments to required specification, with accuracy and precision

· 
Thorough knowledge of fabrics, understanding of draping, fabrication and pressing.

· 
The ability to assess the impact of any alterations on the organization's ready-to-wear and related accessory products.

· 
Excellent communication skills in order to  communicate with clients on their alteration to ensure transparency and understanding of outcomes.

· 
The ability to work with a larger team to work with the Fashion Advisors in managing client expectations or limitations of tailoring requests when necessary.

· 
Productivity and high degree of organization with the understanding of working in a  fast paced, deadline and service-oriented environment.
