Do you have broad and deep experience in both the business and technical aspects of cloud computing and related IT technologies? Do you have rich experience understanding and influencing compute technology choices and building programs to remove obstacles to adoption with public sector customers (governments, educational institutions, non-profit entities)? Do you enjoy working with customers to achieve greater efficiencies and successes by IT modernization and cloud technologies? Can you help business leaders and technologists assess their requirements, and then help drive the internal product / service development roadmap for existing and new cloud services?

Amazon Web Services, the world's leading provider of cloud computing services, is looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to join the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) technical team to focus on a broad range of IT technologies, especially database (SQL, NoSQL, Redshift, DynamoDB, RDS) and analytics (Map Reduce, Athena, Kinesis, Glue)). Working side by side with WWPS sales and technical leaders, you will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of customer requirements, documenting those requirements in a consensus-based fashion using internal tooling that you help develop and maintain. You will then bringing those requirements back to the AWS service development teams so that future cloud services meet the requirements of our public sector customers. Once plans are made, you will be a key member of the team communicating to customers and to your colleagues in the sales organization an understanding of product / service strategies and roadmaps.

The ideal candidate will possess technical depth in database & analytics along with a diverse technical, IT management, infrastructure, and/or engineering background, as well as knowledge of cloud computing, industry trends, product development, business and organizational skills. This role requires a strong passion for customers and innovation, a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity, strong analytic capabilities, ability to scale and influence broadly both externally and internally, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
· Develop a strong understanding of public sector customer requirements, document and analyze them, and influence product / service strategy based on that critical information.
· Lead cross-functional project teams in the areas of customer requirements and product / service strategies and roadmaps; interface closely with the leaders of engineering and product / service teams to help them better understand customer requirements.
· As product / service plans emerge based on your work and the work of the virtual-teams you lead, serve as a key information conduit between the AWS engineering teams and the field sales and technical organizations, working in conjunction with product management, business development teams, and sales overlay teams.
· In general, work closely with global WWPS account teams and sales and technical leadership to drive adoption of AWS cloud and service solutions into top public sector accounts by focusing on customer requirements and how those link to product / service strategies and roadmaps.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

. 10 years or more of relevant technical leadership, product management, business development, program or project management, and/or operations experience in and around information technologies.
. 3 years or more of professional experience in the database & analytics market (e.g., product management, business development, marketing, etc.).
. 1 or more years of experience with public cloud computing services.
· Bachelors degree in relevant business, computer science, or engineering disciplines.
