Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no lines and no checkout—you just grab and go! Customers simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of fresh, delicious meals and grocery essentials, and go!
Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you're done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we'll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. Check it out at amazon.com/go.

The Role:
This position requires superior analytical thinking, and ability to apply technical and statistical knowledge to identify opportunities to improve processes at Amazon Go. You should be able to mine and analyze data, and be able to use necessary programming and statistical analysis.
The team:
We are a small research team that is passionate about what we do - we are excited about delivering a great CX to our customers every day. The Amazon Go research team will help all aspects of the Amazon Go business including forecasting sales, inventory management, product selection, store layout, and pricing.

Responsibilities:
· Process and analyze data; gather additional data sources that would improve model accuracy
· Build mathematical models for demand forecasting and other aspects of supply chain at Amazon Go
· Prototype these models by using high-level modeling languages such as R or in software languages such as Python.
· Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation, and present to other scientists and business leaders.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Advance degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field and 2+ years of industry experience
· 3+ years' experience in building, iterating and validating statistical models
· Strong working knowledge of knowledge management, data cleaning, machine learning, and analytics techniques.
· Fluency in R, Python or a similar modeling language and in SQL
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java or C++
· Strong verbal and written communication, influencing and partnership skills
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts
