DESCRIPTION

The global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Strategy and Innovation team develops global standards and processes to support Amazon's operations. Our work streams include safety engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational health, occupational medicine, EHS management systems, EHS strategy and risk management, EHS compliance, auditing and continuous improvement. This role will support our global EHS risk team to improve deployment of various strategic and tactical projects which are aimed at reducing EHS risk. The EHS Risk Program Manager will lead a small team and focus on globally relevant risk mitigation projects. This may include analyzing data, scoping EHS risk projects, gathering business requirements, identifying appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities and develop the milestones and launch schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery of global projects. The team members contribute cross-functional business and technical skills, assess and manage EHS risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs with the technical constraints.

The role involves hands-on work in the areas of understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, global stakeholder engagement, data processing, administrative transactional activities, data analysis and document technical writing and proof reading documents. Must be self-starter and detail-oriented. Must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing (English proficiency a must along with your ability to analyse data and drive results!). Must be self-starter and detail-oriented.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree or higher in safety and health, environmental engineering, risk management, or law and a minimum of 1-3 years relevant program management experience or data-driven business operations processes.
· Strong project management skills, as well as data and process administration/transactional processing.
· Excellent computer skills for use of digital tools for project management and document control (Visio, MS Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong technical aptitude (i.e. able to read and comprehend technical documentation, ability to comprehend and execute procedures).
· Ability to develop simple process/procedure documents under guidance.
· Attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Able to self-prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment and know when to ask for help.
