A vacancy for a System Engineer (m/f) Satellite Ground Systems has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “Radar UGS & P/L Data Processing”.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Support Ground System Team on all Satellite Ground System Engineering activities, including domains of G/S Operations, Logistics, Integration & Test, IT-Security

·  Definition of Satellite Ground Systems
·  Ground Segment Requirements Analysis
·  Ground Segment Architecture Definition
·  Execution of Design Trade-Offs
·  Identification of Ground Segment Internal and External Interfaces and Definition of the respective ICDs
·  Specification of Ground Segment HW & SW Elements
·  Definition of a G/S CONOPS / Operations Concepts
·  Costing
·  Collaborate across interfaces with Space Segment Engineering, Space Instrument, Performance Engineering, Operations

Engineering

·  Technical Management
·  Lead Proposals
·  Lead Studies / R&D activities
·  Lead / Coordinate Mid-size G/S projects

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to degree level in engineering /systems, Dipl.-Ing. Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science or

equivalent

·  Several years of experience in information systems and engineering
·  Proven experience in System Engineering in frame of (Sub-)System Developments, preferably in the Domain of Satellite

Ground Systems

·  Several years of experience in project management
·  Experience in System Engineering Management for low- to mid-sized SW Implementation Projects
·  Sound Knowledge of System Engineering Support Tools, e.g. for Requirements Management, Architectural Design, etc.
·  Knowledge of standard Architectures and Model Based Design approaches
·  Knowledge of standard commercial tools supporting the Software Development Process
·  Process-oriented way of working
·  Good communication skills
·  Negotiation level of German and English, French is an asset
