Description of the job

A vacancy for a SAR Sales and Business Development Manager (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence, at the Friedrichshafen site. You will be a team member of the TMDIE and SAR Sales Team.

Tasks & accountabilities

In this frame, the Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence SAR Sales Manager is contributing to the increase of Intelligence sales by promoting and developing such offer with a main focus on Radar (SAR) products and services. Following on from recent growth and success, and to respond to increasing demands form the global markets, the main activity requires a responsible, motivated and proven Sales person to develop regional markets of SAR products and services – considering also integration with other products within the Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence portfolio.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  be part of the Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence SAR Sales and Business Development team, located in Friedrichshafen and other sites
·  On a global scale, develop and secure independently and in cooperation with Sales Regional Managers, colleagues and collaborators , a growing SAR market and be a highly pro-active and motivating member of the global Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence team
·  Carry out SAR commercial development in the international markets for the products and services and systems of Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence through the definition and implementation of promotional and sales plans,
·  Be responsible for your region’s sales planning, monitoring and verification of the SAR orders and orders acquisition trends
·  Ensure the company SAR Business Development, through the implementation of the commercial/sales policy and plans in coordination and synergy with other sales managers in Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence
·  Carry out Business Development strategies for existing SAR product as well as evaluation and implementation, working in close co-operation with the product management team (Marketing)
·  Representation of Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence at peer level internationally, at client visits and symposia
·  Build strong sustainable networks in both the private and public sector and promote partnerships, resulting in global high levels of business activity

This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  You are educated to a degree level in Earth Observation, Geo-Sciences, Business, Engineering or equivalent
·  You have experience in the commercial and Business development SAR market
·  You have basic knowledge of international SAR competitive systems and of the SAR market at global scale
·  You have knowledge of optical satellites and the integration between SAR and Optical
·  You have knowledge of SAR products, from standard products to higher level products including Elevation Models, services and direct access capabilities.
·  You have experience in a commercial Earth Observation Environment
·  You have communication skills aimed at sustaining a Business Development and commercial plan to your peers, to interact within Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence business units and international organization and with clients alike
·  You have a multicultural attitude and are used to working in an international team environment
·  You take initiative and are committed to your job
·  You speak English and German to negotiation level basic knowledge of other languages would be a plus
