Description of the job

A vacancy for a Quality Assurance and Safety engineer has arisen within European Test Services. European Test Services (ETS) is a joint venture between Intespace S.A. and IABG mbH located in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. ETS maintains and operates the environmental test centre of the European Space Agency (ESA). ETS is active in mechanical testing, EMC testing, thermal vacuum testing, altitude simulation and more. Besides testing of spacecraft and space applications, ETS has also become a major supplier of testing services to railway, marine and power/electric industry.
The ETS Quality Management System (QMS) is certified regarding the requirements of ISO9001-2008 and ECSS-Q-ST-20-07.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Contributing to all activities related to the Quality and Safety process.

·  Actively promoting and supporting the monitoring and improvement of processes within the Test Centre.

·  Preparing and maintaining Quality Assurance and Safety documentation including the QA manual.

·  Monitoring the correct implementation of customer requirement for all activities carried out in the Test Centre

·  Operating the non-conformance control system including chairing Non-conformance Review Boards (NRB).

·  Preparing, performing, reporting and monitoring internal/external audits and safety inspections.

·  Organizing and chairing Facility Readiness Reviews (FRR) and other test reviews.

·  Organizing and chairing Safety Review Boards (SRB) and following- up mitigation actions

·  Contributing to the ETS risks assessment and mitigation

·  Interfacing with customer Product Assurance (PA) and Safety representatives to ensure the implementation of customer requirements.

·  Reporting to the ETS Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) and acting as his deputy.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  A university degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or technical sciences.

·  Experience in the implementation of management systems in compliance with Quality and safety standards such as ISO9001, EN9100, OHSAS 18001.

·  Experience in Product Assurance or Quality Assurance in the European space industry, and knowledge of relevant ESA standards (ECSS) is an asset.

·  Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team.

·  Good organisation and communications skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems.

·  English: negotiation level
