A vacancy for a IT Engineer - Linux Infra domain expert (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “TECCB6 - TL2 IT & Comms Engineering”.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

You are responsible for the Engineering and Deployment of large scale IT systems and complex communication networks (IP-based) for computers and communication customer projects.

Second area of your responsibility is to lead development and maintain an adequate tailored product for cloud computing hosting features with competitive total cost of ownership which properly interfaces its system management counterpart.

Engineering/ Deployment for IT-systems and IP networks:

·  Design and define Hard- and Software configuration for IT-systems
·  Design and implement core services, hosting services in line with monitoring, deployment, orchestrations concepts for large scale IT system (incl. operating system, OEM and Airbus Defence and Space own application software)
·  Design and develop management features for secure hosting cloud infrastructure services features, esp. hardened OS stacks
·  Debug and analyse under responsibility feature issues
·  Create respective documentation for engineering and product lifecycle management
·  Taylor delivery documentation to final solutions (Physical architecture , product breakdown structure, installation and usage manuals, Bill of materials…)
·  Deployment/ Upgrade of customer systems
·  Design, document and implement IT configurations
·  Install/ Maintain cloud computing application stacks on targeted platforms

Test automation/ Load Testing:

·  Design/ Adapt/ Maintain IT-environment for Load tests of developed features
·  Develop/ Adapt/ Maintain Test framework for Test automation & Load testing
·  Adapt and maintain Load test process: Setup till result collection and first evaluation
·  Maintain configuration, engineering, deployment for execution of tests

Required skills

·  Educated to a University degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
·  Experience in IT HW/ SW, large infrastructure secure hosting solutions, Virtualization and Software design network technologies
·  Experience in Development, Deployment and Acceptance of complex IT networks
·  Expert knowledge on Linux RHEL (version 6,7) and on scripting for automatization and orchestration (bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet)
·  Expert knowledge on RHEL (version 6,7) Patch management, kickstart, imaging and on linux firewall (iptables)
·  Basic knowledge on installation of: PKI, certificate, TomCat, JBOSS and on SQL, Oracle, PostGresql, databases
·  Basic knowledge on Windows 2016
·  Knowledge in test automation tools and test framework SW an advantage
·  Experience with Distributed Version Control Systems and the Atlassian Toolset (Jira, Confluence etc.) is an advantage
·  Team player in a multicultural international context
·  Excellent German and English language skills, other languages used at customers (Arabic, French) an additional asset
