You will write your final thesis in the department Space Equipment – VHDL Engineering Germany

Tasks & accountabilities

You will write your final thesis in the Engineering/Design & Development department which specialises in the development of On-board FPGA/ASIC logic and processor solutions for satellite subsystems and on-board navigation instruments. In this scope, an evaluation of a sensor processing algorithm on a new multi-core computer architecture based on ARM Cortex R52 has to be performed.

Your role will involve the following exciting tasks:

o Get familiarised with the new computer architecture based on ARM Cortex R52 and with the typical sensor processing algorithm
o Evaluate the computer hardware and software architecture for a sensor processing implementation
o Perform an implementation of the algorithm with a selected software architecture
o Evaluate the performance of the processing speed and computer resources (memory, interconnect bandwidth, …)
o Documentation of the implementation, evaluation and test results

Required skills

You offer:

o You are an enrolled student (m/f) within Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or similar field of study
o You have gained experience in tools like SW Design Tools, Matlab/Simulink
o You are used to Programming Language C, C++
o You are experienced and excited by new processor architecture and image processing algorithms
o Languages: English is mandatory; French or German would be an asset
o You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently
