Description of the job

A vacancy for an Airframe Customer Service - Repair Design Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. You will join the Repair Engineering Department.

You will be in charge of repair design and authoring activities for the Structural Repair Manual (SRM or ASR) for all A/C Programs. In his function you will contribute to define and create the SRM content.

Tasks & accountabilities

In close cooperation with certification departments, stress teams, you will be responsible for:

·  Planning, specifying and monitoring the Design activities, including suppliers,
·  Consulting and retrieving the Design product structure and Drawing sets,
·  Defining the requirements for Repair drawings in close cooperation with the SRM stress team,
·  Managing and checking Design supplier deliverables (baseline drawings, repair drawings…),
·  Launching the publication of SRM source data,
·  Launching of the corresponding authoring activities through work orders definitions,
·  Management of the Authoring activities either subcontracted or internally performed with the respect of quality, lead-times and costs,
·  Steering the subcontracted activities and monitoring the performance of the subcontractor. You will be in charge of organizing regular steering meetings,
·  Management of the validation and verification activities in accordance with Quality checks,
·  Supporting the Compliance Verification Engineers (CVE) and Designated Airworthiness Engineers (DAE) (Qualification),
·  Being a key-player of "SRM Engineering & Publication Departments Working Together" process improvement,
·  Supporting other team members in their daily work,
·  Providing continuous and efficient support to customers and to all users of the SRM. You will ensure accurate and timely answers to customers, and launch preventive/corrective improvement actions based on customer feedback.

These activities are performed in a transnational environment and interfaced with other Airbus functions (Engineering support and design office. FAL. etc.) as well as external entities (customers, Supplier, Engine and Nacelle manufacturers, etc.).

This role will involve around 4 business trips per year (mainly in Europe) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  A 3 years-degree in Engineering or equivalent: materials, stress, design, maintenance,
·  At least 3 year experience in Structure: metallic and/or composite design and/or authoring. Maintenance and repair documentation experience would be a strong asset,
·  Knowledge of Structural Repair Documentation (SRM/ASR),
·  Knowledge of at least one the following tools would be a plus: CCD, CATIA V5,PDM Tools, VPM, PDM Link, PRIMES, GILDA, GAMS, Tech Illustrator, DACAS,
·  Leadership mindset,
·  Ability to coordinate and federate people (knowledge of subcontracting network),
·  Ability to work with a good team spirit and in a transnational environment,
·  Advanced level of English. Intermediate level of French or willingness to learn would be a plus.
