Description of the job

A vacancy for an Aircraft external noise specialist (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join the aircraft exterior noise integration team, its Design Office in Toulouse.

The Aircraft Exterior Noise team plays an essential role all along the development phases of an aircraft by evaluating its acoustic performance, ensuring it fulfills its external noise objectives, and by contributing to its overall design.

In the frame of aircraft programs, you will be in charge of the delivery of complete and robust aircraft noise models and predictions in flight and of the full analysis of engine and aircraft acoustic tests.

As part of Research and Technology, you will be in charge of assessing at aircraft level future concepts and low noise technologies (engine, nacelle, airframe) developed by Airbus and its industrial partners. You will also be part of the development of capabilities that provide the team with the adapted means to conduct acoustics studies.
This position includes collaborative work with various Airbus internal teams such as other Acoustics teams, Aircraft Performance, Engine Performance or Future Projects Office, and also a strong collaboration with international industrial partners such as engine manufacturers or research centers.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Contributing to the assessment of overall aircraft noise. To perform these tasks, you will run the Airbus in-house aircraft noise prediction tools (integrating all engine/aircraft noise sources and related aircraft and engine performances) to deliver aircraft far field noise evaluations, you will also analyze flight and static tests.
·  Defining, completing, and capitalizing on the various studies and you will contribute to their communication to internal customers and to technical discussions with external partners.

This role will involve some travel (twice a year) for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Master's degree level (5 years) or equivalent in Aeronautics or Acoustics
·  First experience in aeronautics
·  Knowledge or experience in aeronautics, aircraft or engine performance / aerodynamics or numerical methods would be a plus.
·  Good communication skills
·  Solution oriented & Autonomous
·  Advance level of English & French
