Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The purpose of Group Treasury is to manage the company’s liquidity, solvency and financial market risks.

Global Treasury processes are categorized in four major pillars: Financial Risk Management, Corporate Funding, Financial Operations and Middle Office. Group Treasury´s Financial Risk Management manages the company’s (financial) market risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity exposures. Group Treasury’s Corporate Funding team manages strategic liquidity for the company to ensure that sufficient funds are available to operate the business on a global basis. The Middle Office acts as an intermediary between Group Treasury’s Front Office on one side, and Group Accounting / FSS as well as the corporate Auditors on the other side.

Group Treasury’s Financial Operations team is responsible for (i) the Group’s daily global cash management, (ii) global external bank account and in-house bank account management, and (iii) Treasury system applications. The main purpose is to ensure the Group’s daily global financial liquidity and to ensure that sufficient funds are available to operate the daily business on a global basis. To ensure daily liquidity, the team enables funds any daily operational cash shortfall with loans from the financial markets and invests any daily operational cash surplus in the financial markets.

Treasury’s Financial Operations is also responsible for Treasury’s global Cash Factory Project which aims to consolidate, standardize, automate and re-design the Group’s global cash management and payment processes.

adidas owns about 700 bank accounts with global gross cash flows through these accounts around € 60 billion per year. Globally, around 80 managers are directly involved with the Group’s cash management activities. With the consolidation, standardization, automation and re-design of the Group’s global cash management processes, Group Treasury is delivering significant improvements in working capital management (and related savings in financial expenses) as well as improvement in work processes and resource allocation.

The Group incurs about € 50 million p.a. in bank charges related to financial operations.

Key Responsibilities :

· Manage global bank accounts and zero-balanced global cash pools in defined currencies on daily basis.
· Ensure smooth operation of the day-to-day business by setting-up and maintaining optimum global bank account and pooling infrastructures, operating efficient cash management and payment processes and enforcing the accuracy of prepopulated and manually planned cash flows by using the treasury applications SAP Cash Management, SAP Bank Communication Manager, SAP Inhouse Cash / Inhouse-Bank, Bank Account Manager and Treasury Management System.
· Enable fact based funding / investing decisions by creating transparency on short-term liquidity forecast.
· Manage and execute reporting and ad-hoc analysis of external and internal bank account balances as well as financial position.
· Provide expertise for assigned functional areas / systems and processes towards team and business partners.
· Provide technical and business expertise for treasury and SAP processes
· Support managing global bank documentation for adidas AG and subsidiaries bank accounts with global Masterbank.
· Support to negotiations of transactional bank fees with global Masterbank and support money market instrument conditions.
· Operate as global escalation point in all banking related topics to support subs and other finance teams.
· Ensure running systems by regular release tests for Treasury owned system applications
· Support to manage Bank Account Management (BAM) tool, global administration, support subs and drive maintenance.
· Manage global Masterbank e-banking tools and global administration in collaboration with FSS Team.
· Actively participate in projects in the area of Group Treasury and cross functional; implement findings and ensure sustainability of achievements, i.e. SAP Cash Management, SAP IHC, SAP BCM, One ERP, Biller Direct, Bank Statement Processing etc.
· Support and drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives (CII) within Financial Operations, Group Treasury and cross functional.
· Develop and implement state of the art analytical tools, i.e. KPI’S for Financial Operations.
· Identify improvement potential through variance analysis, derive solutions and facilitate related decisions.
· Provide input into new processes or operational plans and deliver results with direct impact on the department targets.
· Develop and implement adequate and aligned communication packages to present results, recommendations and solutions.
· Actively keeps up to date with latest trends in field of Treasury Financial Operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

· Business and IT understanding of processes and structures

· Ability to manoeuvre in consistently changing environment
· Ability to operate cross-functional and understanding of external business drivers

· Very good communication skills for persuasion and convincing others both internally and externally

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· University degree in Business Administration / Finance / Banking Qualification
· 2-4 years’ experience in Treasury / Banking / Accounting
· Treasury systems expertise
· Business fluency in English (written and spoken), German a plus
· Willing to train and be trained on above topics
