Purpose

Responsible for strengthening and achieving optimal product cost and maximize negotiating leverage for specific adidas Business Units’ footwear product that is in sync with the global costing strategy

Key Accountabilities

· Work collaboratively with Liaison Offices to communicate model-level pricing tactics and effectively address critical issues to achieve price targets.
· Collaborate with category partners in Marketing, Design and Project Management to ensure margin maximization at the model level, within the parameters of the company's strategic objectives.
· Support development or enhancement of systems to ensure costing requirements are met and to improve costing performance.
· Support Marketing and Project Management with a proactive approach to costing, in parallel with the product creation process.
· Take initiative in ensuring costing processes and results meet business requirements and objectives; drive process improvement.
· Independently coordinate and conduct category costing reviews at critical milestones in the product creation process; ensure alignment between Marketing, Design, Project Management and Sourcing relative to cost target achievement.
· Coordinate seasonal costing recaps as required, to communicate status and ensure focus on critical pricing issues.
· Ensure all costing timelines are met in full.
· Increase awareness and understanding of cost drivers within the organization through the education and training of key business counterparts.
· Initiate analysis and improvement of cost standards & logic to ensure a fact-based costing process is implemented in all development and sourcing regions.
· In collaboration with Sourcing, Global Planning and Project Management, BU finance contribute to allocation strategies at the model level to ensure margin maximization.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

· Highly analytical skill with strong computer knowledge
· Strong financial/accounting sense.
· Be able to demonstrate experience managing analytical initiatives from conception to completion
· Knowledge of costing fundamentals requisite.
· Strong communication / interpersonal skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Exposure to the latest in footwear materials, components, processes, and concepts
· Technical training in footwear engineering and knowledge of product development/ costing or production will be a plus

Qualifications

· Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting/Business/Engineering; MBA or CPA strong advantage
· Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Finance / accounting/ consumer product/sporting good/footwear industry
· Computer literacy ( advanced excel and PPT skill )
· Fluency in spoken and written English
