TEAM

As part of Digital Brand Commerce you’ll be part of the Digital Strategy team in adidas HQ, the World of Sport in HERZOGENAURACH. The goal of the team is to define the broader strategy frame for Digital Brand Commerce (DBC) and turn it into a reality. This is done by orchestrating the delivery of the end-to-end landscape of DBC as well as owning the strategy through to implementation in the areas of Digital.

DIRECTOR DIGITAL STRATEGY (M/F)

ADIDAS – HERZOGENAURACH, GERMANY

PURPOSE

The position is responsible for facilitating the strategy formulation and evolution of DBC strategy with the Senior Leadership team in alignment with the broader adidas strategy and all key stakeholders.

As Director Digital Strategy in the Digital Brand Commerce (DBC) team, you are accountable for shaping digital priorities based on industry and consumer trends, driving high impact strategic initiatives and providing regular performance updates. Your role will necessitate alignment across DBC, and a large stakeholder network, thereby driving a wider transformation of the company towards a more digital culture and mindset. This role must be future oriented, continuously bringing forward and evaluating new ideas and innovation that will support adidas goals.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Strategy Creation

· Leads and facilitates the DBC strategy creation process in co-operation with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and ensures continues evolution of strategy and strategic planning processes.
· Contribute to shaping the overarching Digital Strategy, seeking inputs to leverage collective intelligence and evolving and planning the core levers to achieve brand and sales objectives.
· Identify strategic innovation opportunities and propose possible ways to capitalize on them.
· Drives alignment across all key stakeholders to ensure successful strategy formulation and implementation.
· Takes ownership for the process of defining DBC portfolio of strategic initiatives.

Strategy Execution

· Drive the realization of the Digital Strategy by leading critical strategic and business development initiatives in collaboration with key global and market counterparts.
· Monitor the performance of strategic initiatives within your scope of responsibility. Identify deviations from targets and drive necessary changes.
· Own the relationship with Corporate Strategy, drive regular board reporting as well as any other corporate cadence.

Change Management

· Enable strategy execution by developing and spearheading key change initiatives.
· Monitor and evaluate changes implemented. Provide formal, continuous communication with leadership stakeholders and DBC community on success metrics.
· Evolve existing frameworks based on learnings during implementation.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education & Experience

· Ideally Master degree with focus on Business Administration, Communication or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 10+ years of in-depth experience related to strategic projects management or similar topics.
· 6-8 years of professional experience in the digital ecosystem environment.
· Experience in Consulting and/or Finance is a plus.
· Experience working with stakeholders at various seniority levels as well as subject matter experts across various functions (Developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.).
· 2+ years of experience in leading a team.

Soft-Skills

· Very good communication skills, especially when interacting with different levels of business.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures.
· Ability to handle ambiguity and untangle complex situations into actionable activities.
· Distinctive strategic mindset and ability to prioritize and delegate high numbers of tasks with varying workload and importance.
· Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset.
· Good numerical and analytical skills.
· Highly developed leadership skills are required.

Hard-Skills

· Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required.
· In-depth understanding of digital trends required.
· Experience with IT & Agile / Scrum an advantage.
· Fluent English both verbally and written.
