Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This incumbent, reporting directly to the Legal Counsel - Retail, will act as an assistant legal advisor to provide paralegal, technical and administrative assistance to the Legal Counsel - Retail in relation to any and all kinds of legal matters and issues which may occur in Retail related projects, the operations of Retail and Retail Expansion developments in aChina. She will, perform a variety of paralegal, technical and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and updating the filing system of the basic qualification documents of the landlords of own retail stores.
• Independently drafting and reviewing routine legal documentations (including but not limited to the simple communication letters with landlords, firefighting inspection and approval application submission materials).
• Proofreading, tracking changes, and editing all materials for completing the accuracy and clarity of legal documents reviewed by the Legal Counsel - Retail.
• Assisting the Legal Counsel in maintaining and updating the legal databases of tracking on the own retail stores’ lease contract status.
• Drafting and reviewing of a range of uncomplicated commercial contracts (i.e. standard purchase contract, consultancy contract, service contract and lease contract) for Retail and Retail Expansion developments under the supervision of the Legal Counsel -Retail.
• Performing legal research in relation to a wide range of legal, regulatory and compliance issues to assist the Legal Counsel - Retail to provide legal advices to internal clients.
• If required, assisting in drafting and submission of the ancillary documents for the permit/licenses applications and establishment of branches/entities for own retail stores.
• If required, coordinating and assisting with regulatory issues arising out of the establishment of new own stores (including permits/licenses applications and establishment of new branches/entities in target locations)
• If required, assisting the Legal Counsel to create and maintain a filing system for own retail stores’ permits/licenses.
• Translating contracts and other legal documentations as necessary.
• Assisting the Legal VP and Legal Counsel – Retail in Retail Co. project including but not limited to：
- Attending feasibility and implication study and discussion with cross functions;
- Supporting to draft feasible scenarios of new retail operations model;
- Tracking working status of cross functions;
- Coordinating with cross functions to follow up the implementation of approved new retail operations model.
- Any other tasks assigned on ad hoc basis.
