The role is based at Dow Silicones Barry site in South Wales and is one of the largest and most complex silicones sites in the world. Barry is situated less than 10 miles from Cardiff city centre, which is home to Europe's largest waterfront development and combines the practical advantages of a small, friendly city with the cultural and recreational amenities of a successful modern capital.

The Workshop Planner / Coordinator is someone who will Plan refurbishment of rotating and fixed equipment in Workshop (pumps and valves), Working with engineering and stores to order parts and working with the daily scheduler to schedule refurbishments. Taking ownership of workshop and other maintenance owned areas issuing safe work permits to transient contractors who work in this area. Planning and executing tanker statuary inspections in our tanker bay facility with a third-party inspector.

Qualifications on the job:

·  Check archived plans on a regular basis in practice.

·  Has knowledge of EH&S procedures and procedures in general.

·  Informs other departments / firms that are involved in the process about their obligation to provide input for compiling the job plan.

·  Is able to process feedback based on the execution of the job plan and is able to optimise the archived plans.

·  Is able to monitor eventual back log in planning, to identify problems and to take necessary action on it.

·  Indicates when preparation in relation to production is required.

·  Is able to work with the GMWP (Global Main Working Process) and procedures, consults technical data, assigns (changed) data for correction and / or corrects his him or herself.

·  Is able to coordinate different resources from different internal departments, nested contractors and external vendors to ensure tanker stats are executed efficiently

·  Works with MRO to expedite delivery of materials when the delivery date doesn't meet the work order BFD

·  Works with AC/GK to prioritise refurbishments based on equipment critical.

·  Ability to self-manage their workload and is flexible around time management (breaks when job allows, early starts etc)

Candidate requirements:

·  Technical qualifications in engineering.

·  Experience in planning of Maintenance Works .

Basic Knowledge of SAP and other Microsoft office software is beneficial
