Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Service Technician will be responsible for block repairs. Personal Safety Division (PSD) Service is opening a service center in Pasadena Texas.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Visually examines returned block for damage
· Performs all administrative functions such as receiving product, preparing documentation, packaging, and shipping product
· Maintains appropriate levels of inventory to support monthly demand of repairs
· Coordinates with Fall Protection Headquarters on product updates, recalls, or operational changes
· Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
· Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
· Repairs or replaces defective parts
· Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
· Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
· Estimates repair costs for customer
· Lifting items or products in excess of 25 lbs. on a regular basis

Basic Qualifications:

· Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
· Minimum six (6) months of experience with hydraulics, mechanical design and/or air supplied systems in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

· Associates degree or higher in a mechanical or technical discipline
· Minimum one (1) year of experience or knowledge on hydraulics, mechanical design, and/or air supplied systems
· Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and air supplied tools

Location: Pasadena, TX

Travel: May include up to 5 % domestic
