Laboratory Expert (m/w): Product Specification Chemistry

Job description

Solvay' s Global Business Unit Special Chem is the world leader in specialties based on Fluorine, Strontium and Barium and in Rare Earth Formulations with 862 million Euro net sales. Special Chem produces materials used in emission control catalysis and aluminum brazing, as well as cleaning and polishing materials for electronics. For our Quality Management Department we are looking for a Product Specification Manager working from Hanover/Germany or any other GBU Special Chem location.

Job Description
· Global responsibility for the Special Chem product specification process within the SAP QM module
· Close cooperation with all Special Chem Laboratories on maintaining, optimizing and harmonizing product specifications and batch strategies
· Maintenance and development of SAP-QM module
· Administration of QM data (characteristics, inspection plans, certificates of analysis…) and batch strategies
· Definition of guidelines for the users as well as training and support
· Collection and approval of the modifications proposed by the SAP-QM users, suggestions for improvement
· Work with sites, project teams, etc. in day to day implementation of new or modified product specifications
Profile
· Academic Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Pharma: In Germany also apprenticeship as ChemielaborantIn
· Work experience in an industrial laboratory or in chemical/biological/pharma application development is a must, familiarity with product specification processes is a plus. Qualification as Quality Engineer is desirable
· Excellent knowledge in SAP (ideally SAP QM) or administration, data base management and configuration
· Ability to build bridges in working cross-cultural and cross-functional
· Fluency in English language (written and spoken)
· Willingness to travel (approx. 15%) and willingness to move to one of Special Chem's locations
