PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The internet of things (IoT) has become a strategic development area for SAP. Within this area, our team develops and runs SAP Vehicle Insights, a cloud-based solution focusing on moving things like cars, trucks, trailers, forklifts and much more. For our customers, we provide services in the cloud that can be assembled into tailored solutions which address new business models and can be integrated into their existing IT infrastructure.

For our team, we need analytic talents that will be involved in customer projects. The aim is to turn collected telemetry data into valuable insights. You will work with our data scientists to analyze real data.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

You can be involved in the complete process of a data science project. A project can comprise tasks like:

·  Understanding the business question and the available data
·  Data preparation and cleansing
·  Statistical modelling
·  Evaluation

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills:

·  Student (f/m) at a university or a university of applied sciences
·  Experience working with a statistical programming environment (e.g. scikit-learn, R, Matlab, Tensorflow or similar)
·  Practical experience with Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling, Artificial Intelligence or related fields
·  Self-reliance, persistence and ability to work in a dynamic environment
·  Fluent in English or German – verbal and written

Preferred skills:

·  Knowledge of at least one high level programming language
·  SQL and working with relational databases
·  Initial experience in a software development project
·  Initial experience with a big data technology (e.g. Apache Spark)
·  Fluent in German, especially verbal
