We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious Legal Counsel (m/f) for our site in Mannheim or Kassel, Germany.

In your function in the department ‘Contracts & Legal Affairs’ in the EMEA Business Unit, Product Line Locomotives you will be legal counsel and business partner supporting various functions. You will be responsible to give legal guidance in diverse legal matters relating to public authorities, customers, suppliers and co-operation partners associated with the rail vehicle business. Part of your daily work is to find, communicate and implement business oriented and reliable legal solutions as well as to fulfil a governance role in terms of compliance with a defined set of rules.

Your main responsibilities:

- Offer support and advice regarding administrative law issues, competitive bidding, contract drafting and negotiating
- Manage claims and support authorization and project management
- Offer advice on bidding strategy & set-up and assume responsibility for bidding agreements
- Joint risk analysis and mitigation strategy for multi-functional issues & gaps with relevant stakeholders
- Responsible for public procurement law review procedures (defensive & offensive)
- Responsibility for project and non-project related litigation (incl. court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution)
- Cross functional collaboration with Engineering, Authorization Management Sales, Bids, Finance and Project Management

Qualifikationen

We are looking for a fully qualified German Lawyer (Volljurist) with excellent credentials, profound knowledge of public and European law and sound legal expertise including Product Liability Law, Contract law, Public Procurement law and Competition law, gained by 3–4 years of experience from working for an authoritative/regulatory body or private law firm with a focus on public and administrative law or as in-house contract lawyer in a commercial or industrial company.

Business fluent (written and spoken) level of German and English languages is mandatory.
