We are looking for an Aerospace Underwriter, based in London. 

 

The Impact You Will Have  

 As the ideal candidate for the Aerospace Underwriter role, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitability by underwriting new and renewal business to meet Line of Business targets. Your adept negotiation skills will ensure fair participation, pricing, and favorable terms, maximizing returns while satisfying client needs. Taking ownership of accounts and clients, you will deliver proactive portfolio management and exceptional service. Building and nurturing relationships with brokers and clients will further enhance the company's reputation and market presence. Overall, your impact will be profound, driving growth, profitability, and client satisfaction within the aviation underwriting segment. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

· 
Support Senior Underwriters on complex business. 

· 
Act as point of delegation for Senior Underwriters. 

· 
Underwrite new and renewal accounts to achieve top and bottom-line targets. 

· 
Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms with brokers to secure profitable deals. 

· 
Proactively manage capacity to optimize portfolio performance. 

· 
Evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of catastrophe modeling. 

· 
Adhere to the Line of Business (LoB) governance framework, including Underwriting Authorities and Guidelines. 

· 
Ensure contract certainty and accurate policy documentation for all accounts. 

· 
Utilize global pricing tools  

· 
Maintain meticulous file documentation and support policy administration processes. 

· 
Positively represent AGCS externally to the market 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

· 
 Ideally, prior experience at Underwriter level, with progress towards professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) 

· 
Proven track record in underwriting profitable business in the LoB, with a deep understanding of LoB products and portfolio 

· 
Ability to assess risk, including inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB 

· 
Established relationships with brokers at the peer group level 

· 
Strong understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape 

· 
Proficiency in legal and regulatory framework, including contract drafting and interpretation 

· 
Experience in working within complex, global matrix organizations 

· 
Excellent communication, influencing, and analytical skills
