We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d), based in Munich.

 

The Impact You Will Have: 
Reporting to the Head of Insurance Closing & Reporting 1, you will be part of the Global Insurance Closing & Reporting team. You will be responsible for the insurance related positions in the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements. Furthermore you will prepare the financial statements according to IFRS, Solvency 2 and HGB and you will contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives at a global level. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

·  Ensure that all assigned closing and reporting tasks based on international and local accounting regimes are accurate and performed in time 
·  Make sure that all reporting internally or to auditors and regulatory authorities are performed in high quality 
·  Check and control the plausibility of Allianz Commercial global and local underwriting result including corresponding balance sheet 
·  Substantiate Allianz Commercial's global balance sheet and P&L and identify and review conspicuous entries and take required actions (e.g. proactive communication to relevant stakeholders, error correction and process improvements) 
·  Manage relationship and show high customer focus in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. other departments, reinsurers, business units, Group Accounting, auditors, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.). 
·  Proactively contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives at a global level 

 
What You’ll Bring to the Role:

·  Degree in Finance or Accounting, Business Administration, Business Mathematics/Informatics or are qualified by experience 
·  Professional experience in P&C (re-)insurance accounting and ideally experience in financial audit 
·  Professional knowledge and understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations (IFRS 17, Solvency 2, HGB) 
·  Strong analytical skills 
·  Advanced Excel skills to quickly analyze data and draw the right conclusions. VBA and Access skills are a plus 
·  Deep experience as active user of SAP FI/BW with understanding of query and workbook development 
·  Good understanding of insurance financial statements and key performance indicators 
·  Excellent communication and communication skills 
·  Comfortable working both in a team and independently, in an international and dynamic environment 
·  Fluent English skills required, German language skills are a plus
