A vacancy for a Software Engineer - Simulation & Test Environment (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “Simulation & Test Environment”.

Tasks & accountabilities

The team “Simulation & Test Environment” in Manching seeks for a talented software engineer (m/f). This position will design and create a cutting edge software infrastructure to bring new functionalities and principles into simulation & test environments.
Central element is our simulation middleware “Sirius”, which basically acts as operating system for simulators. The role will include architecture and software design to create the next generation middleware for simulation & virtual testing environments.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Designing, developing, and maintaining our simulation & test environments.
·  Contributing to the evolution of our middleware technology for distributed & real-time applications.
·  Applying cutting-edge technologies and techniques.
·  Supporting design and development of our flight simulator products.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a degree in Computer Science or simular
·  Strong programming skills (C/C++)
·  Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills
·  Solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures and software design
·  Advanced knowledge of networking and distributed systems
·  Proven knowledge in multi-platform development, plugin architectures, and state-of-the-art programming paradigms, -frameworks, -architectures
·  Knowledge about system programming and OS principles
·  Skills in creating UX elements is a plus (artwork and visual design skills, Photoshop, Qt/QML)
·  English: fluent / negotiation level
·  German: advanced Level
