Junior Sourcing & Production  Manager - APPAREL

The Strategic Vendor Management department (SVM) is responsible of driving the long term Supplier Strategy, aligning all departments and needs. It manages the end-to-end supplier sourcing and on-boarding process, regular supplier performance reviews, supplier development and partnership programs and supplier related routines, working in close collaboration with our product and operation teams. 

The Jr. Sourcing & Production Manager is the responsible to develop and maintain an optimum and efficient supplier base, participate in the supplier strategy, identify and drive all sourcing needs, secure a smooth cooperation with our local sourcing & production offices and conduct projects and initiatives to support suppliers, product and operation teams.

 

YOUR TASKS

·  You will participate in our Supplier Strategy and Seasonal Plan definition, adding your vision and expertise on the best region & supplier options for our products.
·  You will support on the end-to-end sourcing, in alignment with other internal teams and our local Sourcing and Production set-ups:
·  Define our sourcing strategy and identify sourcing needs. Align on the demand, priority, details, etc.
·  Look for potential new supplier options.
·  Collect supplier profile, analyze it and perform test sampling & quotation with selected suppliers.
·  Visit selected suppliers, evaluating product, quality management system, set-up, capacity, compliance, willingness, etc.
·  Share final candidates with our product and operation internal teams and align on the best choice
·  You support to secure that we develop and maintain a healthy supplier base, supporting to solve potential issues (delays, compliance, quality, testing, production, etc.) with our suppliers and factories in alignment with other departments.
·  You will proactively support and propose alternatives to our product teams on product improvement, materials, price optimization, supplier choice, etc.
·  You will lead strategic conversations with our suppliers.
·  You are responsible to align and secure a smooth cooperation with our local Sourcing and Production set-ups.
·  You will support other team members to keep all Supplier related data and documentation available and up-to-date.
·  You will pro-actively suggest and drive improvements on all Supplier & Department related aspects.

 

What we expect from you

·  You have a degree in business administration, engineering, sourcing or a similar field or have successfully completed a business management training.
·  You have minimum 2 years of working experience managing suppliers, with a sound apparel industry knowledge and a previous focus on Apparel / Textiles. Kids Apparel experience is a plus.
·  You have direct experience working with Asian and European suppliers and factories.
·  You are knowledgeable of the supply chain processes of the fashion business
·  You are a good negotiator, experienced in regular supplier communication and aware of the sensitivity of such discussions.
·  You are organized and structured, have a proactive attitude, self-initiating and approachable. You have good communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with suppliers and other teams.
·  You are able to supervise a small team of co-workers.
·  You are willing to travel regularly.
