Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role

To work within the Technology and Administration Solutions (TAS) Data Connect Team (DCT) and to support the delivery of data integrity services across all TAS clients. Take responsibility for assigned data cleanse projects to include the design, testing and analysis of data extracts and cleanse requirements.

To provide project work support and take the lead in service delivery across TAS clients in relation to Liability Management exercises, GMP reconciliation and other ad hoc projects that may arise from time to time.

You should be comfortable liaising with a variety of subject matter experts, including system developers, programmers, pension experts, and actuaries. The successful applicant will work in a team with other technical experts to help shape and develop new and existing data service lines for large scale liability driven financial transactions and logistically data intensive projects.

It is expected that you will be highly numerate with good analytical skills and will have a natural tendency to challenge the methodology and the outputs.

Candidates that have worked with databases and/or in a SQL programming environment will have an advantage although this is not necessary.

From a business perspective you will promote best practices and new ideas within the Data Connect Team on a written or verbal basis. You will be expected to address client needs with a business focus that helps maintain profitability and quality throughout the team’s projects. You will be able to self-motivate to meet hard deadlines on multiple client projects within a fast moving environment
The Requirements

• Data analysis and manipulation skills are essential with the ability to produce data extracts and reports which provide information needed by data cleanse processing teams to complete each task.
• Experience of working on projects and demonstrable project management skills.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
• Interpersonal skills to include good written and verbal communication, and ability to present to internal and external audiences.
• Able to work to a high level of accuracy.
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced IT skills preferably including the use of Microsoft Access and writing macros for Excel.
