Presales Customer Solutions within Enterprise Products & Solutions manages the solution and service design on Group Enterprise customer opportunities, ensuring that what we sell, can be delivered and operated, that all risks are known and documented, resource and capacity are available and costs and timelines have been provided into the bid P&L.
The Solution Architect (SA) role is to be the Design Authority for the end to end technical and service solution for deals with multinational customers. The role will be responsible for working with sales and directly with customers in order to design, cost, and document the solution to be offered to customers.
The SA will respond to requests for new technology or technology-derived solutions from the customer, but will also be accountable for pro-actively creating new opportunities to deploy VGE solutions within the customer's environment.
The SA will work closely with other members of the Vodafone team, including: the technical community, Projects & Programmes, Service, Product and Commercial managers, to ensure that the solution deployed is fit for purpose and can be readily deployed and operated by Vodafone.
This role is based regionally and will deal predominantly with opportunities where the customer decision makers are based in the region. The nature of Vodafone Enterprise customers means some travel is to be expected in this customer-facing role. The customers this role will be dealing with are large multinationals and many designs will be multi-country in nature.
With us you will:
Design complex and customized solutions to meet customer requirements which you have identified by working closely with internal sales colleagues on the one hand and technical customer teams on the other hand
Build accurate scalable cost models and provide input into pricing strategy
Identify and document any risks to the solution by collecting, classifying, identifying risks and supporting calculations
Document solutions in RFP responses, proposals and statements of work inter alia through translating the customer´s desired business benefits into the technical architecture and products proposed by Vodafone
Ensure the value and credibility of the proposed Vodafone solutions is properly articulated in all customer-facing bid collateral
Ensure solutions are deliverable in committed timeframes
Apply if you have:
Relevant higher education in a related field
Must have core expertise in designing complex solutions in one or more of the following areas: IP Networking, Unified Comms including IPT, SIP, IM, email and video conferencing, LAN technology (Ethernet, Wi-Fi), WAN access technologies (e.g. xDSL, Ethernet, SDH, MPLS), internet access solutions, network monitoring& optimisation, security solutions, mobility and mobile data services, IT managed services
3+ years' experience in dealing with large corporate customers (client facing)
International experience, preferable with global solutions
Proven experience in interaction with customer stakeholders on various levels, ability to steer and influence decision makers up to C-level
Experience leading the virtual solution team throughout a bid
Analytical and critical thinking, detail orientation
Fluent German and English language skills mandatory
Willingness to travel (not more than 25%)
