UPS Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of UPS, is expanding in Europe.UPS Capital provides risk mitigation and financial solutions for business of all size and industries along global supply chains. Cargo Insurance, ParcelPro ™ Select (PPS), Customized ® Declared Value (CDV) and UPS Proactive Response ® Secure (UPRS) are products that are currently offered.Additional team members will be required to further support the expansion and growth. The Finance Supervisor will be responsible for providing accounting support for UPS Capital in Europe and will report to the Europe Finance Manager.

The Finance Supervisor is responsible for:

· 
Preparation and coordination of US GAAP and Statutory accounting with the UPS GAC

· 
Assist with monthly close of the general ledgers and perform variance analysis

· 
Responsibilities of German entity and its branches accounting as well our post-Brexit UK entity

· 
Reconciliation of the local and US GAAP results for all entities and branches of UPS Capital in Europe, identifying corrections to the US GAAP ledgers where necessary

· 
Compliance with the self-audit program established by UPS internal audit

· 
Coordination in the areas of tax, treasury, statutory accounting and local GAAP reporting

· 
Provide guidance and document specific accounting topics

· 
Review and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures

Within the function you will:

· 
Act as subject matter expert around all general ledger responsibilities and is in close contact with the GAC, GBS and Tax group

· 
Assist the Finance Manager in establishing controls to ensure:

· 
US GAAP and local GAAP compliance

· 
Accuracy of the US GAAP general ledgers (filing reconciliations, balance sheet and income statement analysis, etc.)

· 
Review and report internal, external and self-audit results

· 
Support the Finance Manager in developing accounting policies and procedures in coordination with corporate accounting

· 
Provide accounting assistance and expertise on special projects (e.g. system implementations, integrations, taxation)

Required Skills and Education

· 
Degree in Accounting, CPA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification or currently working towards such a qualification

· 
Strong financial/accounting/analytical background

· 
Good understanding of accounting processes and technical accounting concepts

· 
Ability to audit/analyze financial information

· 
Ability to work on own initiative

· 
Good communication skills

· 
Fluent in both English and German

· 
Technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies and procedures

· 
Previous work experience in the area of accounting

· 
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and accounting systems
