Job description

SALARY: £17,040 to £21,300 plus excellent benefits including BUPA healthcare and pension

MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe operation of warehouse equipment and for effectively carrying out various warehouse tasks. The Warehouse Operator must ensure that all finished goods are safely loaded and dispatched using the relevant procedures.

JOB SUMMARY
· Machinery – the machines must be kept operational during loading time and so the Warehouse Operator needs to be responsive to minor stoppages and breakdowns by either informing the shift engineer or knowing the working principles of the machine in order to complete a fault diagnosis
· System errors – SAP is the usual offender in relation to incorrect dispatching loads – the Warehouse Operator must correlate the information with the Master Data and identify and contact the leadership team in order to solve the problem.
· Miscellaneous problems – these ad hoc problems affect the general smooth running of the process, e.g. lack of transport containers.
· Maintain excellent internal communications within own team and with other teams via completion of shift logbooks, activity boards and thorough handovers.
· Follow instructions from Leaders to use down time for basic cleaning activities such as training, 5S
· Ensuring cover at all times through working effectively with colleagues in line with our site working agreements using line manager as point of escalation if required.
· Check the quality of finished pallets – ensure that the labelling, pallet heights, pallet quantities and number of cases are correct and of a high quality standard and finish by doing a damage check.
· Handle products in accordance with quality procedures and standards to achieve the required product quality targets at minimal waste levels.
· All drivers should be at a RTITB standard or should possess a FLT license
· Close skills gaps identified by the skills matrix by arranging and completing training activities
· Embrace training and development, sharing knowledge with other team members to support overall team development.
· Become competent in the following systems: SAP, Road Runner and TMS.
· Seek feedback from others to further development of own skills and behaviour.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
Essential
GCSEs, O-levels or equivalent in Maths, English and Science
Basic level of computing skills

Desired
Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
Practical creativity and Manual dexterity
