Background & Purpose of the Job

The Hair Cluster Design Team is looking for a Scientist to join the dynamic, fast-paced R&D Team in North America. North America Hair is one of the biggest regions in the category, responsible for 1.4 Billion USD in Turnover. The candidate for this position will be responsible for Formulation and Scale up of Hair products, including Shampoos, Conditioners, Hair treatments and styling (aerosol and non-aerosols). As part of the Cluster design Team the candidate will have the opportunity to lead execution of the innovations and see them in the market, supporting the processing, marketing and supply chain teams in order to ensure a flawless launch.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

Product Developer and work stream leader for Hair North America, working with the Technical Project Leader and cross functional team. Interact with Packaging and Consumer Insights to leverage technologies that meet NA consumer needs. Support both Global and Regional innovation pipelines in order to launch superior products with Quality, speed and agility. Support Cluster Design fast-paced work (formulation, stability, scale up in pilot plant and plant, launch, Demos) to support the different Brands ambition with 70% and 20% projects. As part of this role, the candidate will be trained in the formulation and execution of different technologies (emulsions, surfactant mixes, solutions, aerosols, powders, etc.) in order to support the highly evolving hair market in North America.

· You're a born leader: You will manage assigned product development projects, with minimal guidance. Working with cross functional teams to meet category objectives and innovation ship to trade dates.
· You're a strategy guru: You will provide product options and develop, test and modify if necessary to meet consumer, customer and factory needs within a set timeframe and cost requirements.
· You're a dot connector: Deliver effectively within a cross functional team, understanding impacts of changes made by other functions and understanding how to deliver solutions when issues arise.
· You're a changemaker: You will bring new ideas and solutions to the table to deliver exciting innovations to the market place to continue TRESemmé market leadership

What You'll Need to Succeed

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 1-2 years practical experience. Flexibility and open mindedness in achieving objectives is required. The candidate should work well in teams and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with others. The candidate should have previous experience in active participation in multidisciplinary team environment by working toward the completion of team initiatives, as well as personal objectives. The candidate must have strong technical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
