Description du poste

Within Group Legal Department, "Societal & HSE" Division - Themes: legal support on societal (including human rights, stakeholder engagement), environment including biodiversity, and climate.

The trainee will support all activities of the lawyers of the Division, which acts as internal legal counsel for corporate teams on HSE, climate change and social responsibility matters.
He/she will assist with the drafting of legal advice, legal training and contract(s) on matters relating to safety, human rights, societal engagement, protection of the environment, biodiversity and climate.
Specific tasks include:
- Regulatory and caselaw research in French, European and international law, as well as other jurisdictions in which Total is active;
- Preparation of a daily legal watch bulletin for the benefit of the Division and its internal clients.
The trainee will participate in internal meetings and trainings related to the above.

The selected individual have a Master’s degreein Law and looking for a 6 months internship from July 2020 .

Required entry Qualifications:

·  Fluent in English and French
·  Must possess Microsoft Office skills (Word, Powerpoint, basic Excel)
·  Knowledge in international and European environ
·  Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, good interpersonal skills
·  A work or study experience in an English-speaking country is a plus

Contexte et Environnement

The trainee will exposed to full spectrum of work of the HSE and Societal Division of the legal department of a major multinational company.
He/she and will have the opportunity to work and exchange with lawyers from different legal, professional and cultural backgrounds.
The trainee will be given opportunities to develop his/her research, analytical and drafting skills and will be encouraged and coached to acquire increasing autonomy in his/her work.
