Project Engineer Navaids (m/f) (Ref.Nr. 1714591)

in the Air Traffic Management division at our headquarters in Ditzingen near Stuttgart

You will enjoy having this responsibility:

As a Project Engineer Naids you will be responsible for the Project Engineering activities for Air Traffic Management (ATM) conventional navigation systems during bid and project execution phases in domestic and export markets.

It also involves the following tasks:

· Providing technical support during tender and/or contract negotiations with customers
· Analyzing the technical parts of tenders (compliance matrix) with assistance from Product Managers and other experts
· Performing Site Surveys including creation of Site Survey Reports for domestic and export projects relating to terrestrial navigation and related (sub-) systems
· Selecting the Navaids system configuration, based on experience, previous system configurations and computer aided simulations, including recommendations to other non-Navaid systems
· Providing technical specifications to selected suppliers as well as supporting procurement department in selecting new suppliers
· Defining the scope of supply for the selected THALES product
· Selecting and defining supplemental components from external suppliers (e.g. various data links and modems, power supplies systems, medium voltage (MV) transformer systems, fiber glass products for masts and towers and others)
· Providing the project specific design documentation, partially supported by a draftsman
· Providing the as-built documentation according to customer / site requirements, partially supported by a draftsman
· Clarifying technical on-site issues in co-operation with the project manager, customer service and other stakeholders (Product Manager, Quality, local KIP, others)

You have:

· Degree in technical engineering, with focus on electrical engineering, telecommunication or RF propagation
· First professional experience in a technical environment
· Basic knowledge and common understanding to civil work standards
· Basic knowledge of ATM operations
· Negotiate with customers and possibly consultants
· Good knowledge of standard Office tools (e.g. MS Office) and CAD (e.g. AutoCAD)
· Willingness to travel abroad to any worldwide destination
· Very good German and English skills
· One additional language recommended, e.g. Russian, Spanish, French at least on a level to understand and support tender/contracts requirements
