POSITION PURPOSE: This position is required to have a broad knowledge in ROV systems so that individual can act as a subject matter expert within the functional teams, providing insight and precise work instructions to internal and/or external teams. Additionally, a position at this level must be able to work with internal and external customers in proactively understanding their needs and requirements. This individual will be able to troubleshoot, recommend modifications to the project scope, and deliver high quality documentation for end users we deliver a service utilizing remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) for use in the deep-water, and our operators rely on clear and concise instructions to keep our machines in top operational condition. The ROV Service Specialist will develop and maintain operation procedures, service and repair manuals, design specifications, system manuals, customer acceptance test plans, etc for our subsea operations. Furthermore, they should have a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with engineers, customer service personnel, and end users and demonstrate ability to leverage those relationships to extract technical information and convey it via the best media to end users.

POSITION DUTIES:
· Responsible for safe and high-quality service.
· Responsible to make sound technical decisions based on logical reasoning and analysis.
· Excellent planning is a must for the successful performance of the duties of this position.
· Commitment to customer service is critical.
· Provides project support as required for all new projects which includes: attending design review for equipment and tools, reviewing installation procedures, assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests, and reviewing project training requirements for service personnel.
· Write, edit, and illustrate content for new and existing technical and procedural documentations, gathering information from ROV Services and various internal and external suppliers, subject matter experts and technical documents.
· Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision unaccompanied or in a team environment and make decisions based on business impact and technical data.
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
· Solid analytic, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
· Willing to assist or lead in any projects as requested by your line manager.
· Verify technical manual content using information from subject matter experts
· Track the engineering product change order (PCO) process to determine impact on technical documentation - create new documents or modify existing ones as needed
· Product teardown and assembly: Mentors less experienced personnel in product teardown and re-assembly to create reliable service instruction procedures
· Devise and recommend new document types and formats that are responsive to needs of customers and field service staff
· Other applicable duties, as assigned or required
· Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and competing demands.
· Provide technical and commercial support for Services quotes and/or CTR development.
· Provide onshore support for ROV offshore service team.
· Participate in Technical Reviews in preparation for execution of customer operations.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, communications, related field or demonstrated experience with highly complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems
· Five (5+) years of hands on offshore ROV experience (operations, maintenance, etc.) as well as three (3+) years of technical writing experience in the oil & gas industry
· Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation e.g., Flare, Share Point, Visio, FrameMaker, Acrobat, MS Office, Photo Shop, Illustrator and related programs
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional personnel, especially design, and field service, engineers
· Strong mentoring/leadership skills
· Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and easily convey in text and pictures
· Broad knowledge with working with subsea robotics, fiber optics, hydraulics, and electro-mechanical equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Work is primarily in office environment but, could include an occasional offshore trip to drilling and production platforms, installation vessels and international locations in a limited capacity. Work in these situation is outside and therefore conditions are dependent of the elements (heat, cold, wet, etc.)
· Must be able to work varied schedule with extended hours.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must be able to pass designated offshore medical physical exam or possess current medical.
· Must be able to pass designated offshore survival examinations or possess current offshore survival certification.
· May be required to take relevant qualified screening and be subject to random alcohol / drug testing requirements.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms; to sit, talk and/or hear, use dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a vehicle.
· Climb ladders, and work in inclement conditions offshore.
· Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to load and unload equipment, climb ladders, reach into machine to remove and install parts.
· Must be able to work offshore in harsh and inclement weather conditions.
