Role Summary/Purpose

The main duties of the position are the inspection of aftermarket equipment to facilitate overhaul. This will require the individual to make decisions on the criticality of parts and the effect this may have on the fit, form and function of the assembly. They will also be responsible for the creation of manufacturing routings and work packets to serve the workshop.
Essential Responsibilities

This position is part of a manufacturing team, however, a large part of the responsibilities required for this role will be directly related to the engineering function
This will require the individual to work closely with both functions. Also to ensure that the work is carried out in the correct timescales to meet customer delivery dates Safety and Compliance are paramount in all aspects of the role and must be adhered to at all times
Ability to understand engineering Bills of materials, drawings and specifications
Ability to interact and liaise with internal and external customers
Understanding of machining, fabrication and Assembly processes
Understanding of assembly/test operations
Compile Survey reports and disposition engineering requirements
Create repair procedures and Weld maps to facilitate refurbishment operations.
Liaise between workshop personnel and Design Engineers to overcome challenges
To create manufacturing routings and manufacturing instructions from a sales order and survey reports
Provide Bid support to Proposals(ITO) to assist in the preparation of quotes
Must be self-motivated/disciplined and be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team and also work in a multi-disciplined environment
Ability to read and understand internal/external Quality plans
Understanding and monitoring of manufacturing cycle times
Other duties include the attendance at toolbox talks/team and project related meetings with either internal and/or external customers
To strive for continual improvement and engage in the process improvement
Qualifications/Requirements

Time served engineer with Mechanical and Fabrication background
Candidates from either a workshop or engineering background who have proven years experience will also be considered
