Logistics Buyer EMEA (m/w/d)

Solvay is a major player in the chemical industry with 26.800 employees, 135 sites in 61 countries worldwide and 10.1 billion of net sales. As a support for our international Purchasing Team, we are currently looking for a Logistics Buyer (m/f/d), to work for uspreferably from our plant at a Solvay site in Germany, such as Rheinberg, Hannover, Oestringen or Bad Wimpfen to the earliest starting date.

Job Description
· You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of logistics including transportation, rental materials and warehousing for our industrial sites. Your focus will lie on the sites of Germany, but you will also be responsible for other plants in Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland with strong interaction with Inland Logistics Procurement EMEA Team
· Your area of responsibility will incorporate the preparation, execution and formalization of negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors across Europe
· You will maintain and develop supplier relationship models with the key providers in your portfolio and you are able to acquire new supplier to extend the logistics network
· You will ensure the deployment, the execution and follow-up of the contracts and manage the communication and reporting to all relevant stakeholders on the contractual agreements
· As part of the European Purchasing Team you will contribute to obtaining and extending professional knowledge
· You will also follow market trends by researching the market, identifying and analyzing potential suppliers within your domain
· In close cooperation with your internal customers you will collect and analyze their expectations in order to define, propose and implement purchasing strategies and action plans
Profile
· You hold an academic degree or a commercial apprenticeship and your track record shows experience in purchasing, preferably in buying logistics or the organization of logistic
· Confidence with a strategic approach
· Experience in global organization or in working in Matrix environment
· Confidence with data analytics
· You speak German and English fluently
· You have an open-minded and independent way of working and you are open to travelling (~20%)
