Mission

Description of the Business Line or Department - Summary of the business, coverage, services

The Operations Department (OPER) handles the middle and back office functions for all GBIS business lines (Markets, Financing) and International Private Banking.
OPER implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative and financial processing market and credit operations initiated by business lines.
In addition, OPER ensures the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial legislations.
• The execution of all operations performed by the front office
• The first level of control on operations and 'quality' certification
• Customer Relationship Management on Post Trade: Relationship with clients, and support during the life of transactions
Management of repositories
• The steering regulatory evolution projects.
• The control of external service providers
Summary of the key purposes of the role - Summary of the key objectives and primary goals (minimum 3)

Trade Support Unit (TSU) main responsibilities & tasks:

• Fully understands booking rules and their impacts on the complete front office – back office- accounting chain
• Understands and are aware of the associated risks to the firm and its clients
• Controls Sales & Trader's bookings in relevant product database versus available external reference sources
• Guarantees and ensures the position integrity from Front Office to Back Office
• Ensures end-of-day accuracy and consistency of position and valuations
• Systematically raises alerts in case of abnormal events; abnormal variations, trades, behaviours...
• Manages events, positions and resolves cash and or trade breaks
• Performs internal controls (permanent supervision, FBK validation, etc...)
• Monitors key indicators (e.g. TSU KPI) even on the off shored perimeter
• Monitors operational risks (e.g. exceptions follow-up, pending trades)
• Participates in projects to support the business line
• Participates in Global and Regional TSU communities to share best practices

• Provides support to the Global Functional head (OPER/CMA/DIR) in respect of day to day governance and reporting, including (but not limited to)

• Shows pro-activity in the development of professional competences, deliverables and contributions to compliment needs and goals of the Company.
• Provides constructive feedback when suggesting new ideas, promoting simplicity and innovations in a professional manner, and actively contributes and embraces change implementation.
• Demonstrates accountability, ensuring to evaluate and improve own performance, actively seeking feedback and advice where applicable.

Level of Autonomy and Authority - Define the autonomy of the role and what the job holder can authorise and make decisions on - If applicable

Working under the supervision of reporting manager, autonomy to be defined and refined under that supervision.

• Highly developed Microsoft office skills – Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Publisher
• Excellent interpersonal skills; to be able to communicate convincingly at all levels with the key decision makers in the relevant business lines and elsewhere within the investment bank
• Strong written documentation abilities
• Coordination skills (across and between the teams in OPER and the business)
• Basic understanding of Investment Banking market activities
• Compliant with confidentiality requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and be responsible for following matters through to completion
• Solution-focused, service-oriented and proactive
• Team player, enjoy sharing information
• Have a strong risk culture and reliable professional conduct
