Position Overview

In this role, we are seeking someone with a solid background in Signaling that has an interest in delving into the world of RAMS. You will learn to be responsible for RAMS management throughout the entire lifecycle of product development as well as project execution from a use case definition, RAMS planning over requirement clarification, design, software development, hardware development, test, validation, field test, pilot projects, product qualification, safety case to independent safety assessment.

Responsibilities

- Establish system requirements regarding reliability, availability, maintainability and safety using customer requirements and FRA guidelines;

- Prepare and execute project safety plans in line with Siemens' standards and practices.Also ensure that necessary documents (hazard analyses, fault tree analyses, safety cases, etc.) are available for approvals

- Act as the intermediary between the project and approval authority; support project execution by coordinating requirements with the Project Manager, Systems Engineers, Independent Safety Assessors, Suppliers and Customers

- Perform RAM and Safety Analyses, FMEA and FTA to identify faults within the systems and operations

- Ensure process adherence throughout the SDLC within the scope of responsibility

- Independently manage the system safety and reliability elements of complex, technical projects

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·  5+ years of experience in Railway Signaling
·  Solid experience with both relay- and microprocessor-based interlockings
·  Knowledge of fail-safe, vital, and redundant design principles
·  Experience with field safety and safe braking calculations
·  Experience with Highway Grade Crossings
·  Collaboration and management skills
·  Experience in writing and reviewing technical reports

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  2-4 years of experience as a RAMS engineer, RAMS manager for complex and safety-critical Railroad, Nuclear Plant, Aircraft andor Automotive systems
·  On the job experience with following techniques: FMECA, FTA, PHA, Hazard Logs
·  CENELEC
·  RSIA
·  On the job knowledge regarding
·  Quality assurance (processes & reviews)
·  Verification & validation (software)
·  RAMS relevant standards (IEEE-1483, MIL-882, IEC-61508, MIL-217)
·  Hands-on knowledge of Interface Hazard Analysis (EN50159)
·  Working in an international environment
·  Customer interaction
·  Relationship with legal authorities
