Position Overview

Repair Center Technician 1

Acquiring technical components to test parts in the repair center that will enable reintroduction components into good stock, thus reducing inventory. Work with Engineering to perform minor repairs and create database that will be used by Quality and Services to trend on the most common failure modes.

Duty/Responsibility:

1. Part testing with available equipment

2. Extensive work in SAP tracking the flow of material and progress of repair, referring consumptions, individual sites and serialization of components. Historical tracking of serialized components from previous failures.

3. Provide feedback through reports showing failure trend analysis

4. Provide reports showing trend analysis by sites by root cause to identify training needs.

5. New part orders to maintain in house repair capabilities, this work would be with the procurement team support and management - When Tech 2 Not available or responsible for specific repair type

6. Root Cause/Failure Mode characterization

7. Generator & Gearbox maintenance, spinning bearings to specific tolerances to protect from flat spots from weight- Support Tech.2 employees when necessary

8. Repack components as required after final testing, final step of refurbishment to generate a like new component. Use of proper packaging and labeling required

9. Identify parts as repairable vs. non repairable, receive in by site in SAP, independent scrap authorization (SAP and Physical) is necessary for components that can be repaired but not repairable

10. Prepare material for refurbishment to 3rd parties and Europe after testing and direct communication with individual vendors noting site specific repairs.

11. Providing tracking information for all shipments either to vendors/Gamesa Spain/or US WF on every shipment

12. The ability to support and prioritize repairs and testing of components based upon repair time/testing time and the warehouse/wind farm needs based upon consumptions and current inventory levels around the country

13. Propose scrap decisions as required. Work with repair vendors and suppliers on normal basis

2. ABB inverter, LCL Filter, IGBT testing, SACE breaker, crowbar renovations/maintenance in house

3. Part repairs of circuit boards, replacement of diodes and fuses, minimal assistance from Technical office only as required

4. Extensive work in SAP tracking flow of material and progress of repair referencing consumptions, individual sites, and serialization of components and historical tracking of serialized components from previous failures

5. Provide feedback through reports showing failure trend analysis

6. Provide reports showing trend analysis by sites by root cause to identify training needs

7. New part orders to maintain in house repair capabilities, this work would be with the procurement team support and management

8. Root Cause/Failure mode characterization

9. Repack components as required after final testing, final step of refurbishment to generate a like new component using anti-static bags and gloves to protect component

10. Generator & Gearbox maintenance, spinning bearings in storage to prevent damage

11. Identify parts as repairable vs. non-repairable and receive in by site in SAP, independent scrap authorization (SAP and Physical) is necessary for components that can be repaired but are not repairable - when Tech 1 not available

12. Prepare material for refurbishment to 3rd parties and Europe after testing and direct communication with individual vendors noting site specific repairs - when Tech 1 not available

13. Providing tracking information for all shipments either to vendors/Gamesa Spain/US WF on every shipment

14. The ability to work independently to prioritize repairs and testing of components based upon repair time/testing time and the warehouse/wind farm needs based upon consumptions and current inventory levels around the country.

15. Propose scrap decisions as required. Work with repair vendors and suppliers on normal basis.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

·  High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent work
·  Vocational/Technical school/Diploma program

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

·  Associates degree preferred
·  2-4 years work experience in repairs of electrical/electronics component preferred
·  Additional work experience maybe considered in-lieu of education
