Position Overview

At Siemens the Safety Consulting business segment is a leading global consultancy focused on providing process safety related services and products. The business has sales and operations in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific and serves customers globally.

The Safety Consulting business segment is looking for a Operations Lead to utilize his/her expertise in managing the Safety (SAF) Romanian Operations (to support global SAF business) and CEE business development inthe area of process safety, design and analysis, to deliver quality projects to Siemens customers. These projects focus on process safety management with particular emphasis on the area of pressure relief systems.

In the Operations Lead role, the individual will be responsible for managing the engineering function and technical sales support within the safety consulting segment. This role is located in Bucharest, Romania reporting to the Houston headquarters to ensure assigned projects meet customer and company objectives.The individual in this role will have the opportunity to interface directly with customers and industry organizations to ensure service and technical delivery of our established service and product portfolio and drive technical development of new areas of services and products to enhance customer satisfaction and overall safety footprint.

Your new role – challenging and future – oriented

Oversees engineering projects within the business, with regards to scope, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction and ensures the effective execution and profitability of projects in conjunction with project management.

Works closely with various functions to enhance execution practices, processes, and tools that effect immediate operations with focus on engineering processes, tools, execution benchmarks, resourcing and staff.

· 
Manages utilization, resource planning, cost center budget and people performance management and staff development

· 
In conjunction with other project operations and delivery functions, performs assessment on internal training program effectiveness and staff skill matrix, establishes and maintains operational excellence through improvement of training content, scheduling, logistics, and any certification process and support strategic workforce planning of technical staff.

Responsible for managing high level communication of technical updates, lessons learned and execution practices, to ensure consistency in overall project execution.

· 
Provide effective customer relationship management by working in conjunction with internal and external business stakeholders to deliver high levels of service, resolving issues raised by customers and to seek mutually satisfactory solutions and ensure high customer satisfaction is achieved.

· 
Support and drive participation and representation in industry committees and conferences in conjunction with the chief engineer, engineering, project management, marketing and sales department to improve industry and customer interface and intimacy.

· 
Provides technical support to sales to engage with new and existing clients and participates in scoping, benchmarking, costing and approving engineering budgets in proposals.

Your Qualifications – Solid and Appropriate

Bachelor's/Master or PhD degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
·  Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a refining or petrochemical operating and/or engineering consulting business environment.
·  At least 3 years experience in a managerial and leadership position
·  Experience in the area of upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas processes.
·  Demonstrated technical competence in the field of process safety.
·  Communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely
·  Good knowledge of English language, both writing and speaking – is a must
·  Preferred skills:
·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills
·  Ability to lead and influence teams.
·  Proficient in understanding of OSHA &European requirements for Process Safety Management
·  Expected travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
·  Driving License.
